When my Chinese postgraduate student showed me Little Red Book (a social app hugely popular with Gen-Z women), I was stunned.

Type ‘fertility’ into the search bar and the app instantly suggests ‘damage and injury’. This isn’t fringe, it’s a deluge.

Together, we delved into trending images and stories, combining AI translation with her cultural insights.
